Final Project: Recontextualizing Haiku

Image
"An ocean voyage. As waves break over the bow, the sea welcomes me."  This is the haiku I chose. I've always had a deep passion for drawing nature, especially sunsets. The ocean is a beautiful thing, and combined with the sunset it becomes a spectacle. I feel like there were aspects of these images I could have improved on. But I'm glad I did what I did.

Project 4 part 3 (profile shots)

Image
Spoilers; I don't know these people, I just made them up as I went along. But they look pretty convincing. First three shots are comprised in illustrator and the other three where drawn. I always find profile shots fun because I'm worried I'll screw up the anatomy but I like how they turned out.

Project 4 part 2 (lines and watercolors)

Image
The first four were made in illustration other four were drawn by hand. Though you have to ask how much of it was digital? could be half of it or all of it. We could never know. I had fun doing the watercolor ones and the line drawings more than the illustrator as I felt more freedom in my strokes. Sure illustrator helps things look more polished. But where's the fun in that?

Tones: Project 4 Part 1

Image
for this project, we were assigned to separate a drawing into a grid format. I took a photo of myself and used three different stroke styles to draw using a pencil. I then convert the third one to illustrator. 1st one looks a bit funky, but the other two are the ones I put a little more detail into.

Obssesion

Image
For this piece i used the concept of obssesion and portrayed it using our constant consumption of technology. I find it interesting how it takes up so much of our lives.
